Children's Clothing and Footwear

It is recommended that children wear comfortable easy to wash clothing

and that you dress your child appropriately for the activities your child will

undertake. For example, long dresses and skirts can be a hazard when

climbing.  Shorts, pants, leggings are best.  Please dress your child in

comfortable clothes that allow them to assist in developing self-help skills

for dressing and undressing.

Please supply at least one extra set of clothing for your child in case of

accidents.  Children are encouraged to wear protective aprons during

messy activities, however, accidents do happen. Please name all items

of clothing clearly.

Children are encouraged to remove shoes and socks when playing

outdoors to improve grip and balance on play equipment but we

recognise that there are times when it is inappropriate to have bare feet.

In these cases please ensure that shoes are safe for children to run and

climb in.  Shoes should have good grip so there is no risk of tripping or

slipping. Closed in shoes are preferable.  Shoes such as thongs, slides

and gumboots are unsuitable for outdoor play.
