Enrolment

Orientation and Enrolment Session - Prior to commencing Kindergarten, each child and his/her family are invited to attend an Enrolment and Orientation session.  At this session, families are guided through the Parent Information and Policy Handbook and asked to complete the relevant enrolment documents.  Families are also encouraged to ask any questions that may arise from this session.  We encourage you to bring your child to this session as it helps him/her to become familiar with the centre before attending.  At this session, families are also asked to book a time for an Enrolment Interview with the class teacher prior to commencing at our service. Please note: Birth Certificate MUST be sighted and a ‘copy’ obtained prior to your child commencing.

Enrolment InterviewAt the Orientation and Enrolment Session, families are asked to book a time for an Enrolment Interview with the class teacher.  These interviews are done prior to the commencement of the Kindergarten year.  This interview allows families the opportunity to discuss important information in relation to their child and their family in confidence with the class teacher.  This process also allows families to clarify any information in the Parent Information and Policy Handbook prior to starting Kindergarten to assist and support you with settling in.

As this is a very exciting time for your child, we ask that you bring him/her along to this Interview to meet his/her new teacher.  We will also conduct a general Developmental Screener with your child.  The information gained from this screener is used to ensure that a quality educational program is tailored to meet the individual needs and abilities of your child.  Please note that this information is confidential and is used to track growth and development over your child’s year at Head Start.

Changes to Personal Information For the health and safety of your child, please ensure that your contact details and emergency contact details are correct and kept up-to-date at all times.  Staff will regularly remind families of this through newsletters and noticeboard.
